 “Our Fellow Americans”

Once, those words carried the weight of unity — spoken by President George Washington as a promise that this nation would rise together. Today, that simple phrase feels endangered, twisted into a slogan for political theater. But when we say it, we mean it the way Washington did: not from a podium, but from the ground level of American life. From the factory floor. From the farm gate. From the diner booth. From the county meeting hall. Shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who make this country work.

We stand with our fellow Americans — the builders, the strivers, the caretakers of communities. The men and women who have carried this nation on their backs through enterprise, labor, grit, and the quiet heroism of everyday life.

Americans are waking each morning into a thickening fog of uncertainty — a fog engineered by national “spin doctors” who churn out so many narratives, so many crises, so many manufactured storylines that the sheer volume leaves everyday citizens dazed. Confused. Concerned. Overwhelmed to the point where disbelief turns into resignation, and resignation turns into complacency. That complacency is dangerous — it turns a free people into unwitting pawns. And some days, you can’t help but wonder if that’s exactly the intention of agenda-driven media.

We watch leaders speak in circles, promising action while delivering performance. We watch clarity get replaced by choreography. And we watch headlines whirl through a relentless parade of crises — a carnival of chaos that leaves Americans questioning what’s real, what matters, and who is still fighting for them.

In times like these, media becomes either a lighthouse or a liability. Too many have chosen the latter.

For Collier’s we choose to be a lighthouse.

We are rebuilding Collier’s as a magazine of the people, by the people — Investigative. Independent. Intentionally American. A publication rooted not in ideology, but in citizenship. Our mission is simple: tell the truth, talk to the people living inside the stories, and restore a national standard of reporting that honors facts over theatrics and Americans over algorithms.

But truth takes resources. It takes reporters sifting through mounds of documents where real decisions are hidden. Interviewers asking real questions and printing real responses. It takes photographers driving rural roads where national media never goes. It takes editors who know how to separate noise from news. It takes a platform strong enough to carry the voices of everyday Americans to a national stage.

It takes independence — which means refusing corporate influence, political entanglement, and the cheap currency of sensationalism.

And it takes fellow Americans who believe, as we do, that America deserves a publication that still tells the truth.

Your support directly fuels investigative reporting that digs where others won’t, community-rooted storytelling that elevates voices ignored by national media, fact-driven coverage of emerging technologies, government accountability, and cultural flashpoints, a revitalized Collier’s platform built to serve readers, not algorithms, and a new generation of journalists trained in integrity, curiosity, and courage by those still guided by those principles.

Collier’s is not chasing clicks. We are chasing clarity. We are building a publication that stands steady in the storm — a place where Americans come not for comfort, but for truth; not for noise, but for understanding.

If you believe in a media landscape where facts matter, where citizens are heard, and where the American story is told with grit and honesty, we invite you to stand with us building the foundation of the Collier’s revival.

Together, we can restore a voice this country has been missing.

With respect and resolve,
Bobby & Craig
